save our planet to many greenhouse gases all the ice up north will melt and cause places like florida and houston to flood give me a break tree huggers and pathetic money greedy freaks like al gore and david suzuki history shows that every so many years there is climate change and we had a while of warm weather but i live up north in canada and the last two years it has been colder with more snow in the winter then the last 15 years proof that we are going into a cooling stage so for all you who still believe that the ice far north will all melt and flood millions of acres of land i suggest move to higher ground why dont you all go climb everest together you would be safe there forever

The instant somebody proves, without doubt, that the so called climate warming (in fact climate fluctuation) is 100 % antropogenic in nature, I will endorse any or all of the above. Until then, let´s allow Mother Nature to handle her ups and downs. There are lesser catastrophes in plenty to worry about.

Funny. Although some of those ideas remind me a little too much of how the humans scorched the sky in the Matrix universe. They sprayed rapidly replicating nano-machines into the atmosphere to cut the Machines off from the sun. It was a horrible sin that destroyed most biological life on the planet. For their arrogance they were imprisoned in the Matrix and cast into the Pit (Zion). I think our day of reckoning will come someday… I just hope I’m not around to see it.

Hmmmm.

Anybody else reminded of Opus from “Bloom County” and his idea for a missile defense based on a gigantic net made out of $1 bills in orbit around the Earth?

In his interview with the DOD another scientist there had as his idea “Giant Space Frisbees”.

There are no words sufficient for this nonsense. Seriously. We’re going to induce -volcanoes- to erupt? To do what?

about 40 years ago the communists ( under the heading Russia’s top scientists ) published a book entitled ”Global Engineering” which included turning the world on its axes so as to profit from the northern land mass ( Russia ) using controlled nuclear explosions, digging canals through all the continents for water transport, one world central government to eliminate waste, etc., see nothing changes.

Retired Engineer, that reminds me of a short story by my favorite author, TC Boyle, called “The New Moon Party.” Basically, a US President runs on a platform of building a new moon for the planet. When it finally gets put into orbit it causes people to mate uncontrollably.

The number solution is collecting methane gas from cows fails because the cows do not fast, they beltch. That means what the are collecting summies the whole as cow dung. Having delt with cattle, plugging the wrong can lead to a major catastrophe when you pull the plug, especially when the grass is green.

This looks like a great way to prove the Law of Unintended Consequences. The sort of thing that permanently messes up the planet because of what the “experts” failed to anticipate.

What about giant mirrors at the L1 point? I expected that one.
