Bromantic movies are forming a new niche in film making. The complex and taboo subject of male friendship and bonding has become a goldmine in Hollywood, but fact of the matter is that this peculiar genre has been around long before 2009′s I love You, Man, only receiving its shrewd name recently. Here are top ten bromance movies of all time.
1. I Love You Man
I love You, Man is a comedy that came out in 2009 and starred Paul Rudd, Jason Segel, and Rashida Jones. This film focuses on a character named Peter, who is trying to find a best man for his wedding. In attempt to find his best man, Peter goes out on man dates that do not turn out so good. He then meets someone named Sydney and the two men end up forming a special friendship.
2. Swingers
Swingers is a film that came out in 1996 and stars Jon Favreau and Vince Vaughn. This film is about single and unemployed actors living in Los Angeles and the friendships that they end up forming with each other.
3. Clerks
Clerks is an independent comedy film that made its debut in 1994; it stars Brian O’ Halloran and Jeff Anderson. This movie is about the friendship between Dante and Randall, the film’s two main characters.
4. Superbad
Superbad is a 2007 comedy film starring Jonah Hill and Michael Cera. This film is about two best friends, who are high school seniors, trying to live it up before they head to separate colleges in the fall.
5. Pineapple Express
Pineapple Express is a 2008 film that stars Rogen and James Franco. This movie is about the friendship between a process server and marijuana drug dealer.
6. Wedding Crashers
Wedding Crashers is a 2005 comedy film starring Owen Wilson and Vince Vaughn. This movie is about two womanizing best friends whose goal in life is to crash weddings and bed the single women.
7. White Men Can’t Jump
White Men Can’t Jump is a comedy that came out in 1992 and stars Woody Harelson and Wesley Snipes. This movie is about the friendship between a former college basketball player and another arrogant basketball player.
8. Bad Boys
Bad Boys is a 1995 action film starring Will Smith and Martin Lawrence. This film is about the friendship between two detectives who are trying to recover 100 million dollars worth of heroin that had been stolen.
9. Laurel & Hardy
Laurel and Hardy is a duo that made several that made many movies during the classical era of Hollywood cinema. They are known for their slapstick humor.
10. Jay and Silent Bob
Jay and Silent Bob are fictional characters portrayed by Jason Mewes and Kevin Smith. They are for their appearances in Clerks 1 and 2 and their rather ambigious sexuality.
