All of the Star Wars films are exactly the same with the constant music. Once you realize it, it’s incredilbly annoying.

Very hard to confine a list of must see movies down to ten but if you are intent in putting sports movies on the list surely Paul Newman’s classic performance as ‘Fast’ Eddie Felson in “The Hustler” is a must. In my opinion by far the best sports movie of all time and required on a list of must see movies if not solely for the performances of hollywood heavyweights Paul Newman and Jackie Gleeson

Top 10: (In no particular order).

1 Comedy: Mel Brook’s History of the World Part 1
2 Sci-Fi: Star Wars The Empire Strikes Back
3 Fantasy: Lord of the Ring Trilogy (Included as one movie because thats how Tolkien intended the books to be)
4 Mafia: Casino
5 Historical Drama: To Kill a Mockingbird
6 Mafia: The Godfather
7 Sports: Remember The Titans
8 Drama: The Usual Suspects
9 Comedy/Thriller: Oceans 11
10: Thriller: SAW (Okay I know people will not agree with this pick, but for what it was i.e. low budget film that made the best of what it had, no other film will ever give the jaw dropping conclusion of this film).

Saving Private Ryan is NOT….I repeat …NOT realistic in ANY SENSE OF THE WORD.
ever hear of the word : “uniform” ? No squad wears s different uniform for each man.
ever hear of “spread out” ? no squad ambles along bunched up talking in a combat zone.
ever hear of ” cover” its why no unit moves in open terrain
ever hear of “set up” its what the viewer is for every weird death in the film
and finally:
No Skip Holm airshow P-51 drops bombs off non-existant bomb racks….no P-51 ever dropped bombs on anything regardless
The premise sucked and so did the movie.

I have to try, you know. You SHOULD see this movie. You should go into it without even considering the romantic aspect. The romance between the two leads wasn’t why people like me went to see it over and over again. It was the story of the people on that ship, and the knowledge that this was real, this happened, this wasn’t just something we learned in History class. I’m telling you, you won’t regret the time spent watching it. It honestly changed my life and the way I viewed past events.

Saving Private Ryan is the classic war movie? what about full metal jacket or apocalypse now or platoon or bridge over the river kwai? Saving private ryan is hardly the pinnacle of war cinema.

Titanic is BS. Reasoning that just because something is popular, it must be good is flawed. Titanic was a weak movie that came out at the right time and was promoted in the right way to the right people. Thats all.

Not sure about your choices of sport movies, but your other picks are solid. Great comedy and western picks (classic western fans may disagree with your choice).

You’ve omitted a fair few genres of film. Wheres the classic thriller or horror?

Gone With the Wind is an excellent movie but the constant violin playing really started to piss me off. There is literally not a second where there is no music in the background. Sometimes silence is as powerful as any sound effects.
