Top 10: Hilarious Sleevefaces Photos

What is a sleeveface photo you ask? Take an album cover or even a CD cover and hold it up in front of your face… now take a picture. Sounds simple right? Some of these people when through a lot more trouble than that. Enjoy!

10. John Travolta

While not on the set of Urban Cowboy or Grease- John spent a lot of time in the 70′s and early 80′s in heels and fishnets apparently. No wait! It’s a fake! Wow! How did they do that? (Gasp in awe.)

9. Lennon

John Lennon, one of the biggest icons of his time. Some might consider this type of “art” to be a little sacrilegious, somehow I think Mr. Lennon would approve and might just take it for the fun that it is.

8. George Micheal

This one I really like. The way the artist incorporated actual hair into the album cover and blended it all in… I’m no art critic, I just thought it looked pretty cool.

7. Elton John

I’m sorry… Sir Elton John. Still, you have to love the effort this guy went through. Unlike some of the other sleeve face photos we reviewed, this one took a lot of extra time to achieve the right effect… bravo.

6. Bob Dylan

Turning a camera a little askew does not make it art… just a little cheesy. The addition of the tea kettle and attention to detail made this sleeveface happen for me though.

5. Jose Feliciano

Again, more effort, a few props and a helping hand from a cohort and we have a nearly live version of nearly everyone’s favorite artist Jose Feliciano.

4. The Boss

This is more like a sleevebutt photo, but we had to give it a nod anyway. The way the cover was applied was nearly seamless. A very nice job and a good switcheroo on the mixed gender photos theme.

3. Micheal Jackson

This cover took some work and again, a nearly flawless job of costume matching a posing. I guess if you’re going to get iconic, might as well go with Jacko.

2. Slim? HUH???

If you’re going to go mix gender on your sleeveface photo go BIG. That what this guy did and it’s still giving me nightmares…. Could you imagine? Sorry they just don’t make paper bags thick enough…

1. John and Olivia

I’m not picking on Travolta, really. You have to admit this sleeveface photo is very cool for a number of reasons: Iconic subjects (check), cloths match (check), poses line up (check) and even the background matches somewhat. It’s Olivia’s hair that kind of freaks me out.. was that just luck or did they take that kind of time?
